Blog Archives: UPCOMING EVENTS

Upcoming events CrossFit-Savannah will be involved in or support.

No clinics scheduled at this time.  If you would like to have a clinic here in Savannah, or have Coach McCauley come to you- please contact Coach McCauley at (912) 484-5842 for more information.

Basic information about clinics:

This is open to any Crossfit member or coach (also any high school or college coach).  The clinic will begin at 10 AM and end sometime after 3Pm.  You will go home knowing how to perform these lifts correctly and I will give you a short, step-by-step manual which you can use to remind yourself of how to do correct technique and teach others.  The Full Clean, Power Clean, Full Snatch, Power Snatch, Clean and Jerk, Hang and Block lifts and more will be covered.

I will teach you the drills, methods and techniques I use with olympic weightlifters.  They are the ones, afterall, lifting the most weight using these lifts and they KNOW the best techniques to use.  One or two of my lifters who have been on international teams will be there to assist me. Feel free to bring video cameras.  Feel free to stay and talk later.

If you’re struggling with or hurting from these lifts, come see me.  This is going to be hands-on and I am going to talk you through it all as we go.  Bring sweats, shoes, tape, towels and water and prepare to work and learn.  Call me at 912-484-5842 or e-mail me at coachmccauley@comcast.net.

I am cutting this off at 10-15 students because I think teaching in small groups is critical for this type of lifting.

There will be a welcome home dinner (bring covered dish, please) for Savannahs’ most prolific Olympian, Cheryl Haworth, Saturday, Aug. 30th at 5:00PM.  The dinner will be held at Aldersgate Methodist Church Fellowship Hall next to the training facilities for Performance Initiatives at the Aldersgate Family Center.

Our last weightlifting medalist (Bronze, ’00) returns from her 3rd trip to the Olympics, where she finished in 6th place this year.  Come welcome home this extraordinary athlete and person.
